LAND O LAKES — Police have identified the man killed Monday in a Vilas County snowmobile crash as 57-year-old Michael D. Wilson of Lafayette, Indiana.
The crash happened around 8:15 p.m. on N. Helen Creek Road in the town of Land O Lakes. Police say Wilson struck a tree and was not conscious when rescue crews arrived.
Speed and weather visibility issues are possible factors in the crash, officials said.
