Keeping today’s workforce healthy requires an organizational commitment to improve health.

Attendees to the 2018 Ascension Employer Solutions Worksite Wellness Summit will have several opportunities to hear from industry experts during “Performance and Purpose: Creating Pathways to Wellbeing,” on Tuesday, April 3 at the Dreyfus University Center at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point.

The Summit Keynote will feature Ryan Picarella, MS, SPHR, president and CEO of WELCOA, who will kick-off the 2018 Summit with “People, Place and Purpose – Wellness as a Business Imperative.” In this presentation, Ryan will share his ideas on the evolution of health promotion programs as they adapt to a more holistic approach. People, Place, Purpose and Performance will provide a framework for building strong organizational cultures that improve health, create conditions for employees to succeed and ultimately impact the success of the business.

“We are excited to bring Ryan and his important message to central Wisconsin to keynote our summit,” said Derek Bell, business and program development manager, Ascension Employer Solutions. “As president of WELCOA, he works with communities and organizations across the country to ignite social movements that will improve the lives of all working people in America and around the world.”

Breakout sessions at the event will include Taking the Temperature on Wellness and Healthcare; Onsite Health and Wellness Programing; Enhancing your Culture with Onsite Services and the PersonWise Personality Experience.

Artist Kent Youngstrom will present a creativity workshop: “Developing Your Organizational Manifesto.” The closing session Absorb. Integrate. Act. A Community Conversation will feature Dave Ebenhoh, Vice President of Mission Integration, The Resource Group.

This summit is designed for company presidents, executives, human resource directors, managers and presidents; wellness professionals, educators, specialist and community health practitioners; medical and health professionals, allied health professionals; coaches, counselors, and mental health professionals; benefits managers, consultants and others whose work involves managing health and wellness at the worksite as well as young professionals and students desiring a career in health promotion and wellness.

“Our goal in developing this agenda was to provide ready-to-implement strategies to build best-in-class programs and services, skill-building sessions for professional development, programming ideas for reducing the costs of care at the worksite and promoting lasting behavior change,” said Bell. “This is a special opportunity to learn about emerging trends regarding impact and cost containment, engagement, leadership, and re-igniting your purpose.”

Cost to attend the Ascension Employer Solutions Worksite Wellness Summit is $25 for fulltime students; $60 for Ascension clinicians or associates and UW-Stevens Point staff and $90 for professionals.
