WAUSAU, Wis – Thanks to warmer temperatures and melting snow, snowmobile trails across Marathon County are now officially closed.

That news comes today from a post on the Marathon County sheriff’s department Facebook page. Trails first opened in parts of the county on January 27th, and were entirely open for about three weeks this year, thanks to warm conditions and lack of heavy snow cover through most of the winter.
Deputies remind riders to thank land owners that open up their properties to snowmobiles.
