Judith L. Haering
Judith Lynne Haering (nee Meyer), age 79, passed away March 9, 2018 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Judy “Jay” was born on October 3, 1938 in Chicago, IL to Ethel Bertha (nee Haboeck) and Roy Robert Meyer. She is survived by her husband Arno Haering; daughter Lee (Jonathan) Herum; son Paul (Jane) Haering; grandchildren Mary, John, and Erik Haering, sister Sandra (Roland) Groddy, and grandpups Lilly, Nelli, Dory, Bella and Finley. Judy is preceded in death by her parents; in-laws Arno and Lorett Haering; sister Pam (Jack) Clarey; and granddaughter Ann Haering.

Herbert J. “Herb” Tritten, Jr.
Herb Tritten, 75, of Wausau was called to be with his Lord on March 11, 2018. Herb died at home from complications of Alzheimer’s disease under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
Herb was born in Wausau on January 30, 1943, the son of the late Dolores (Nagel) and Herbert J. Tritten, Sr. He graduated from Wausau High School class of 1961. After graduation he joined the Wisconsin Army Reserves. Herb worked for George Baumgard Plumbing and Heating, Able Plumbing and then as Credit Manager for Connor Forest Industries until 1984, when he left the company to start his own “mini” business, Herb’s Repair Shop, a small engine repair business. Herb was also very proud of his “Park Patrol” years as a Reserve Deputy with the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department under Sheriff Louis Gianoli. Herb married Ruth Krueger on April 7, 1973 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Wausau.
Herb loved working with his hands making wood furniture and crafts, doing many craft shows throughout the state. He repaired small engines and did woodworking until retiring in 2012. He was a lifelong member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church and a 53 year member of the Wausau BPOE Lodge 258. Herb was a very talented woodworker with a great sense of humor. He loved spending time with friends just talking, playing dartball for St. Andrew Lutheran Church Mountaineers, gardening, and riding his Harley. He will be missed by his family and many friends.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Ruth of Wausau; sister, Ruth Mader of Plano, Texas; niece, Kris Marcus (Steve) of Dallas, Texas and their children Alexa and Brianna Marcus; nephew, Jay Mader (Patty) of Prairie Village, Kansas and their children Danielle and Rebecca Mader. He is preceded in death by his parents; uncles, Ralph Nagel, Edward Nagel and Richard Tritten; in-laws, Ann and Conway Krueger; and brother in-law, James Krueger.
Services will be held at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 600 Stevens Drive, Wausau on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at 11:30 am with visitation from 9:00 am until the time of services. The Reverend Bruce Lamont will officiate. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park.

Michael Costa
Michael (Mike) James Costa of Wausau, WI, died of natural causes on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at the age of 68.
Mike was born in Cherry Point, NC on February 6, 1950 to James and Denise Costa while James was serving in the Marine Corp. Mike spent the majority of his life in Wausau having graduated from Wausau East High School in 1968 and then served in the Army Reserves 397th Engineering Div. where he was honorably discharged. Mike spent most of his working days at Lakewood Sporting Goods, Custom Glass Products (CGP) and most recently at County Market.
Special to Mike were the many adventurous outings with his dad and brothers navigating the northern lakes and catching the biggest fish, all while poking fun at one another and driving each other nuts. He also spent endless hours talking sports with his boys about the Packers, Brewers and any other sports or teams that interested Ben and Joe. He was always interested in what they got excited about and worked his hardest to learn and follow. Mike was also very proud of his grandkids and couldn’t get enough stories and pictures.
Mike was preceded in death by his mother and father, James and Denise Costa. He is survived by his two sons, Ben Costa (Tracy) of Henderson, NV and Joe Costa (Amy) of Cheyenne, WY; his brothers, Jay Costa (Dianne) of Broomfield, CO and Jim Costa of Wausau, WI; his five grandchildren, Darek, Nathan, Alex, Jaden and Haley; his four nieces and nephews, Brett, Heather, Temra, and Austin.
Special to Mike include Candy, Marla and “Mister” the cat.
A private service was held by immediate family members.

Milton Imm
Milton Imm, 96, Wausau, died Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Wausau Manor under the care of Interim Hospice and Palliative Care.
Milton was born in Wausau on April 7, 1921 to the late Emil and Alice (Dehnel) Imm. He graduated from Wausau High School and went on to faithfully serve his country in the US Army during WWII from August 1942 to December 1945. Milton served in the Pacific Theatre attaining the rank of Sergeant. Upon returning home, he met LaVila Sodke on June 8, 1946 at a Veterans Homecoming Dance at Marathon Park. The couple later married on May 7, 1949. Milton retired from American Can as a supervisor in 1982 with over 30 years of service.
Throughout his life, Milton’s faith and Trinity Lutheran Church, Stewart Avenue, were central in his life. He was baptized, confirmed and married at Trinity Lutheran Church by Rev. E.H. Bertermann. Milton also served on the church council, finance committee, assisted with both weddings and funerals and sang in the choir with LaVila. The couple also served as youth counselor’s together for 12 years. Milton enjoyed playing the trumpet and had been taught by his father who also played the guitar and drums. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking and ballgames.
Milton is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, LaVila; brother-in-law, Donald (Gaye) Sodke; sister-in-law, Luean Auslund; nieces and nephews, Starla Guckenburg, Marlene Johnson, Dawn Roehl, Jonathan Sodke, Adair Spencer, Stephanie Schroeder, Bruce Hecksel, Angela Szanajda, Amanda Boe; and extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Verna, Martin and Alvin.
The funeral service for Milton will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Stewart Avenue. Rev. Zach Holdorf will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM with a prayer service at 5:45 PM at Helke Funeral Home on Thursday, March 15; resuming on Friday at 1:00 PM until the time of service at the church. Janet Carlson
Janet Carlson, 84, of Wausau passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at North Central Health Care.
She was born September 25, 1933 in Wausau to the late Stanley and Susan (Dodge) Carlson. After graduating from Wausau High School, Janet worked at the Wausau Public Library. She then went on to work in the Systems Programming Department at Wausau Insurance. She retired after 40 years of service. Janet was a past member of the Wausau Elk’s Club. She was a lifelong member of Wesley United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and helped organize the church library. In her younger years, Janet enjoyed traveling, riding her horses and going out to eat with friends. She loved feeding the birds and appreciated the beauty of flowers. During her stay at North Central, Janet always looked forward to participating in the many activities they had to offer.
Survivors include her sister, Judy Anklam of Weston, two sisters-in-law, Jean Carlson of Rib Mountain and Diane Carlson of Wausau and nieces and nephews, Linda, Scott, Ken and Terry. Janet was preceded in death by her brothers, Tom and Jack Carlson.
Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1101 Elm St., Wausau. Reverend Sue Lee D. Min. will officiate. Marian Wozniczka
Marian E. Wozniczka, 93, Wausau died Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Survivors include her children, Tom (Sue) Wozniczka, New London, Tim (Gail) Wozniczka and James (Vicky) Wozniczka, both of Wausau, five grandsons, Dan (Liz) Wozniczka, Scott and Ben Wozniczka, Joshua (Michelle) Wozniczka and Cody Wozniczka, two sisters, LaVerne Johnson, Montana and Jeanne Frederich, Merrill and nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Oscar and Elsie Gaulke and husband, Edmund Wozniczka, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Lorraine Goetsch, Lucille Lach, Pearl Natal and Harold and Oscar “Bud” Gaulke.

Eugene E. Jagler 75 passed away peacefully on March 8, 2018 at North Central Health Care. He was born to the late John and Regina (Fritz) Jagler on May 28, 1942 in Wausau, WI. He married the love of his life Marlene (Schneider) Jagler on May 13, 1963 and together they raised one son Scott. He served proudly in the United States Airforce from 1961 ~ 1965. He worked for many years for Wausau Homes but retired from Kolbe and Kolbe. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling and most of all being with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Marlene of 54 years, son Scott, one brother Dennis. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, John, Elroy, Richard, and David who passed away at birth.

Bruce E. Herrmann, 76, of Tigerton, died on Friday, March 9, 2018 at his home under the care of his family and Theda Care at Home Hospice.
He was born on March 25, 1941 in Antigo, the son of the late Elmer and Grace (Buhse) Herrmann.
On September 12, 2009, Bruce was united in marriage to Sally (Johnson) Matson in Wittenberg. She survives.
Bruce was confirmed at St. Paul Evangelical and Reform Church in Wausau. He was a 1959 graduate of Wausau Senior High. He worked as a machinist in Milwaukee for many years until his retirement. An avid sportsman, Bruce enjoyed hunting, fishing and was once a champion trap shooter. He truly enjoyed the time spent on Pelican Lake.
Survivors include his wife, Sally Matson-Herrmann of Tigerton; children, Sharie, Sandra, Holly and Scott all of Milwaukee; step-children, Barbara Matson, Eland, Kippy Matson and Laurie Matson of Tigerton; grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a sister Mary Beard.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Betty Wolf.
A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg. Mr. Chris Ramsey will officiate. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10AM until the time of service at the funeral home.

Gene G. Wood, 81, of Wittenberg, died on Friday, March 9, 2018 at the Homme Home of Wittenberg under the care of his family and Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
He was born on April 22, 1936 in Bowler, the son of the late Gilbert and Viola (Treptow) Wood.
On December 27, 1959, Gene was united in marriage to JoAnn Raddant in Shawano. She survives.
Gene was a United States Army Veteran serving from 1958 to 1960.
Gene was employed as a truck driver for Schroeder Oil for many years until his retirement. He played baseball and softball for both Wittenberg and Almon for many years and was a Milwaukee Brewers fan. He was a BIG John Deere fan and enjoyed tilling gardens and plowing snow for others.
Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Wood of Wittenberg; children, Bruce Wood of Kronenwetter and Pamela VanOoyen of Weston; grandchildren, Ashley Wood, Kristin Wood, Kassidi Wood, Brayden VanOoyen and Brogan VanOoyen.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Geraldine Wood.
A memorial service will be held at 7PM on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg. Rev. Clifford Kessen will officiate. Visitation will be on Thursday from 3PM until the time of service at the funeral home.
