TOWN OF UNION — A two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon left two people injured, one of whom was airlifted to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries, according to police.

The crash was reported at about 12:30 p.m. on Hwy. 161 and CTH K in the town of Union, according to a Waupaca County Sheriff’s Department news release.

Police say the driver of the car, a 62-year-old Manawa woman, was northbound on CTH K when she pulled out from in front of an eastbound pickup. The pickup driver, a 22-year-old Manawa man, was unable to stop and struck the woman’s vehicle.

The woman was extricated by members of the Manawa Fire Department before being airlifted. The pickup driver was treated at the scene and released.

The crash remains under investigation. No names have been released.
