Gary W.C. Syring, Jr.

Gary W.C. Syring Jr., 54, of Wausau, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

He was born on June 29, 1963, in Wausau, to Gary Sr. and DeAnna (Mueller) Syring. Gary grew up in Wausau and attended local schools. He was employed as a semi mechanic and enjoyed working on big trucks, working for Wausau Homes, Wausau Steel, and also Wausau Tile over his career. The warm weather lured Gary away from the Wausau area and for a time he lived in Arizona and Florida, eventually returning home to Wausau. Gary enjoyed stock car racing and attended races at State Park Speedway. He never missed a NASCAR race on TV. Gary’s dog, Belle, was a comfort and companion over many years.

Survivors include his daughters, Jessica Syring and Ashley Soukup; step-son, Shane (Tara) Holcomb; mother, DeAnna Syring; sisters, Kim Kluetz, Debra Freese, and Vicki (Rich) Tessmer; friend, Tracey; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Sr.

A funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 19, 2018 at Peace United Church of Christ, 1530 Grand Ave., Schofield, with Rev. Gloria Van Houten officiating. Family and friends may call on Sunday, March 18 at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau, beginning at 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Monday beginning at 12 noon until the time of service at the church. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park, town of Texas.

Sandra Radtke

Sandra Radtke, 64, of the town of Texas passed away Friday, March 16, 2018 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

She was born June 17, 1953 in Wausau to the late George and Laverne (Kell) Kalinke. After graduating from DC Everest High School, Sandy attended UWSP achieving her Bachelor of Science Degree in 1975. She began her career at Wausau Insurance working there for 38 years until her retirement in 2016. On April 30, 1988 Sandy married Keith Radtke at St. John’s Lutheran Church, town of Easton. They enjoyed traveling, sightseeing and fishing Up North. Sandy had a passion for animals, especially taking care of her dogs, cats and horses. If she wasn’t bird watching or feeding the many critters that came to visit the feeders, you could find Sandy behind a camera always looking for that perfect picture.

Survivors include her husband, Keith of the town of Texas, her daughter, Megan (Brock Brandner) Radtke of Wausau, sister, Barb (Roger) Betts of Aniwa, mother and father-in-law, Ted and Dorothy Radtke of Wausau, five brothers-in-law, Steve (Linda) Radtke , Scott (Lori) Radtke, Tom (Sharon) Radtke, all of Wausau, Dennis (Maribeth) Radtke of Tampa, FL, Robert (Joanie) Radtke of Wausau, two sisters-in-law, Sue (Arlo) Prahl and Linda (Mike) Maher, all of Wausau and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 22, 2018 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 7505 N. 33rd St., Wausau. Reverend Scott Holubeck will officiate. Burial will be in the Spring at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, town of Easton. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 P.M., Wednesday at the Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St., Wausau and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Rosemary Knudsen

Rosemary Knudsen, 83, Wausau died Friday March 16, 2018 at Sylvan Crossing, Wausau. Rosemary was born Oct. 4, 1934 to the late August and Eva (Klein) Schulz in Wausau. She married William Knudsen on June 28, 1958 in Wausau. Bill preceded her in death on Jan. 23, 2003. Rosemary was formerly employed at Marathon Battery for 20 years.

Survivors include her son, Ken (Laurie Andreas) Knudsen; three grandchildren, Jason and Tyler (Katey) Knudsen and Mickayla (Narcizo) Portilla Andreas; and four great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday March 19, 2018 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau.Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Private burial will be held at a later date.

Irene Kluck

Irene Kluck, 92, died Friday, March 16, 2018 at Riverview Health Services, Tomahawk.

She was born September 27, 1925 in Wausau, daughter of the late Michael and Pauline (Belter) Hench. On February 23, 1946 she married Clarence Kluck at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death on February 17, 1988.

Irene had a strong faith and enjoyed praying the rosary and daily devotions. She was an excellent cook and loved playing cards and Aggravation with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Ronald (Kathy) Kluck; one daughter-in-law, Annie Kluck; grandchildren, Tara Kluck, Jessica (Sean) Kluck, Jason Kluck, Kelsey, Keely and Seth Coffman, Jeff (Jessica) Kluck, Scott (Amy) Kluck, Laura Kluck, Gary Jr. (Melissa) Kluck, Patrick (Rebecca) Kluck, Rachael (Arnie) Bruzek and Brad (Heather) Kluck; many great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Carol Kluck.

Besides her parents and husband, Clarence, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Marie, sons, Allen (Sally), Gary (Rose) and Dennis, daughter-in-law, Cathy Kluck, brother, Art Hench, sisters, Adeline Piaszak, Lucille and Jeanette Kyle.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Visitation will be Thursday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.

Joseph Winetzki

Joseph A. Winetzki, 82, passed away peacefully, Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Wausau Manor.

He was born September 28, 1935 in Wausau son of the late Joseph and Florence (Seefeldt) Winetzki.

Joseph served his country in the United States Navy serving as an intelligence officer in Hawaii and Japan. His family made “The Finest Home Made Chocolates in the World” at the Winetzki Candy Store on Second Street for many years. He also established the Third Order of St. Francis of Assisi in Wausau. Joseph traveled around the world with his family and loved taking ships and trains. He was a friend to all and helped many during their time of need.

Survivors include his sister, Joanne Winetzki, Redwood City, California; friend, Jean Hohman, Redwood City, California; closest friend, Shirley Meuret, Wausau; friends, Dean (Timothy Stumpf) Hanke, Madison; special son, Hong Sheng, Shanghai.

He was preceded in death by his parents and several favorite aunts and uncles.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2018 at St. Mary Roman Catholic Oratory. Canon Aaron Huberfeld will preside. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Wausau. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.
