WAUSAU — A 26-year-old woman who had sex with a 16-year-old employee she supervised at a fast food restaurant will spend six months in jail and five years on probation, after her sentencing hearing Monday.

Brittney Dzwonkowski of Mosinee was convicted in Marathon County Circuit Court of exposing a child to harmful material, exposing genitals to a child and having sex with a child age 16 or older. Additional charges were dismissed as part of a plea agreement, according to court records.

Police say Dzwonkowski, a shift manager at a Wausau fast food restaurant, had sex with the 16-year-old employee on several occasions in December 2016. The alleged victim told police he tried to end the relationship, but Dzwonkowski continued to try contacting him through social media. On May 23, police issued a warrant for Dzwonkowski’s arrest.

She was taken into custody June 5 and was released June 6 on a $20,000 signature bond.

The five-year probation term is a withheld sentence, which means that Dzwonkowski could face additional penalties if she fails to follow the rules of her supervision.

In addition to the jail and probation sentence, Circuit Judge Mike Moran on Monday ordered Dzwonkowski to undergo sex offender treatment and counseling, and have no contact with boys younger than age 18 unless supervised. She must also maintain full time work or school or complete nine hours of community service per week.

Dzwonkowski is expected to begin her sentence within 45 days.
