MARATHON COUNTY — The cross country ski trails and snowmobile trails at Nine Mile Forest Recreational Area will close for the season at 9 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, according to the Wausau and Marathon County Parks and Forestry Department.
The decision, announced on Tuesday, is based on deteriorating trail conditions and future forecasts.
The current available skiing is down Trail Y and back on Trail T. Trails will not be groomed.
