WAUSAU, Wis. — Who would make health care decisions if you couldn’t speak for yourself due to an injury or illness? Aspirus is hosting two free community programs from 5 – 6 p.m. and 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 16, titled, “Brewing the Conversation – About Advance Care Planning” at Bull Falls Brewery, 901 E. Thomas St, Wausau, Wi. Advance Care Planning is a process of planning for future medical care in case you are unable to make your own decisions.

Brewing the Conversation is an event that encourages you to begin having conversations about your health care wishes in a relaxed atmosphere. It is a process of understanding, reflecting on and discussing future medical decisions, including end-of-life preferences. Advance directives can be completed by anyone over the age of 18 and should be updated when choices for health care change.

The conversation will be centered around reflecting on experiences, values and beliefs. We will discuss how to get help with a written advance directive; and you will be able to register for one-on-one help. This is a free program but advanced registration is requested. Refreshments and snacks will be available.

Call the Aspirus Customer Contact Center at 715-847-2380 or 800-847-4707 to register. Advance Care Planning is one of the best gifts you can give to the people you love, and it starts with a conversation.
