SCHOFIELD — A 32-year-old Schofield woman is facing child neglect and drug trafficking charges after police learned she and her mother smoked methamphetamine in front of the woman’s 17-month-old son, according to court documents.

Jennifer Lee faces charges of manufacturing or delivering amphetamine, maintaining a drug trafficking place, possession of methamphetamine, possession of narcotic drugs, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, child neglect and bail jumping in a case filed Feb. 20 in Marathon County Circuit Court.

Kimberly R. Clairmore, 56, of Schofield.

According to court documents, an investigation began Feb. 20 when police interviewed Lee’s mother, Kim Clairmore, during a traffic stop. Police say Lee’s child was in the vehicle during the traffic stop, where officers found methamphetamine in the vehicle.

Clairmore told officers she had smoked meth earlier in the day with her daughter in front of the child and was headed back to Lee’s home when the traffic stop was initiated, according to the police report.

When members of the Marathon County Special Investigations Unit searched Lee’s home, they discovered exposed outlet wires and drug paraphernalia within reach of the child’s crib, according to court documents. Police say they also discovered methamphetamine, marijuana and a Schedule II narcotic drug called Vyvanese in the home.

After being released on a signature bond, Lee was again arrested on Sunday, March 25, after police discovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in her vehicle during a traffic stop. She now faces additional charges of meth possession and bail jumping.

Lee is currently being held in the Marathon County Jail on a $1,000 cash bond and is due in court April 4 for a preliminary hearing.

Clairmore is also facing multiple drug charges in connection with the case. She is free on a $500 signature bond.
