TOWN OF FAIRBANKS — One person is dead following a trailer home fire early Sunday in the town of Fairbanks, according to the Shawano County Sheriff’s Dpeartment.
A caller reported the blaze at W15398 CTH M at about 4:45 a.m. Sunday and told a dispatcher that a trailer home was engulfed in flames. A nearby shed was also on fire, police said.
When members of the Tigerton Fire Department arrived, they discovered the body of one person inside the trailer. That person, whose name has not been released, is believed to have lived at the residence, according to police.
An autopsy was being conducted Monday.
An investigation is being conducted by the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with the Wisconsin State Fire Marshal’s Office through the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation.
Officials have not yet said what they suspect caused the blaze. No further details were being released Monday.
