TOWN OF LEWISTON — A 30-year-old Poynette woman is dead after a two-car crash in treacherous weather early Saturday near Wisconsin Dells, police say.

The crash happened on Hwy. 16 at Lewiston Station Road in the town of Lewiston on slush-covered roads, according to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Department.

Police say the woman who died was driving a Chrysler minivan that spun out of control and crossed the center line before being struck by an oncoming Jeep Compass.

Three people in the minivan were also injured in the crash: a 30-year-old Portage woman, a 27-year-old Sturtevant man and a 28-year-old woman from Portage. The westbound Jeep was driven by a 27-year-old Portage woman who was also injured in the crash, police said.
