NEWS RELEASE — Ascension is pleased to welcome board certified Cardiothoracic Surgeon Charan Mungara, MD, to Ascension Medical Group at Weston.
Dr. Mungara specializes in cardiovascular surgery with a keen interest in beating heart surgery and mitral valve repair. He will perform his surgeries as a member of the medical staff of Ascension St. Clare’s Hospital in Weston.
He joins Ascension Medical Group after spending the past two years as an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin and an Attending Surgeon at Froedert Hospital and the Zablocki Veterans Administration Hospital, Milwaukee.
Dr. Mungara completed his medical education at Mysore Medical College, India and completed general surgery residencies at Carraway Methodist Medical Center, Birmingham, Alabama, and the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, Madison where he also completed a Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship.
“I provide dedicated compassionate care to adults who have heart, lung or vascular disease,” said Dr. Mungara. “My goal is to help patients better understand their disease to meet their care goals.”
