TOWN OF BIRCH — A 59-year-old Junction City woman is facing OWI charges and multiple citations after she was discovered driving the wrong way on Hwy. 51, police said.

Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies responded at about 11 p.m. Saturday to a report of a wrong-way driver traveling north in the southbound lanes of Hwy. 51. Deputies stopped the vehicle within four minutes of the call at Hwy. 51 and Hwy. J in the town of BIrch, police said.

The driver, whose name has not yet been disclosed, failed field sobriety tests before being taken into custody, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department.

She was cited for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, driving the wrong way on a divided highway and having open intoxicants in a motor vehicle.
