Wausau Chamber leader to give commencement address at UWMC

WAUSAU – The Wausau Region Chamber of Commerce’s president and CEO will give the commencement address at the May commencement ceremony at the University of Wisconsin-Marathon County.

Dave Eckmann has more than 25 years of cumulative experience in business, higher education and economic development, according to a news release issued by the Chamber. Eckmann attended Arizona State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s in public administration. He earned his doctorate in higher education leadership from Edgewood College in August 2017.

The commencement ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, in the James F. Veninga Theater in the UW Center for Civic Engagement, 625 Stewart Ave., Wausau. More than 100 students earned two-year degrees from UWMC during the 2017-18 academic year.

Christina Ireland and Adam Hinz and will give the student addresses.

A reception for graduates and their families will be held in Sonnentag Hall immediately following the ceremony.
