LAC DU FLAMBEAU — Authorities are working to confirm the identity of a man whose body was discovered early Thursday in a Vilas County lake.
The body was found at about 10 a.m. in Pokegama Lake as authorities searched for a man reported missing May 13 by his father. Antonio Roche, 24, was last seen May 5 in the Longs Point area, police said. The Wisconsin State Patrol conducted an air search over water and land on Wednesday and Thursday with assistance from the Dept. of Natural Resources and the Great Lakes Indian Fish and Wildlife Commission.
Police say they can not yet confirm whether the body discovered Thursday is that of Roche. Additional information is expected Thursday evening.
