WAUSAU — The Center for the Visual Arts in Wausau will hold an Opening Gallery Gala on June 1, highlighting its two current exhibits, “Aerosol Art – Featuring William Brakke” and the “7th Congressional District Art Competition.”
Brakke will speak about his artwork and process during the gala, to be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. He uses aerosol paint and a series of intricate and original stencils to create layered images, according to the CVA. His fascination with personal human moments is reflected in each decision in any given painting. Brakke draws inspiration from street artists, traditional artists and writers.
The “7th Congressional District Art Competition” features high school artists from across the 7th Congressional District.
Both exhibits are on display through July 14 at the CVA, 427 N. Fourth St., Wausau. Log on to cvawausau.org for more information.
