RIB MOUNTAIN — The Town of Rib Mountain Board of Supervisors is seeking a candidate to fill a vacancy left by a member after he resigned his position in May.
Pete Kachel, who served on the board since 2009, resigned his position because of a residency change, according to a Rib Mountain news release. His term expires in April 2019.
People eligible to be registered voters within the town of Rib Mountain who are interested in serving as a board member should submit a cover letter and resume. In addition, the board requests a brief written response to the following questions:
1. What are Rib Mountain’s greatest strengths?
2. What are Rib Mountain’s greatest opportunities?
3. What would you bring to the board?
The cover letter, resume and written response must be received by the town administrator by 4:30 p.m., Thursday, June 7. Applicants should clearly address their resume packet as “Supervisor Applicant” and send or deliver them to the Town Municipal Center, 3700 North Mountain Road, Wausau, Wisconsin, 54401. Packets delivered via email are acceptable in a PDF format to the following: [email protected]. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure the packet is successfully delivered.
All application packets will be forwarded to the town’s board for consideration. The board anticipates meeting Wednesday, June 13, to discuss the next steps in the process. The successful candidate must receive three votes from the board and town clerk to win the appointment. In addition to considering resumes, the board may also nominate possible candidates independently for consideration as provided by state statutes.
The selected supervisor will serve until their successor takes office in April of 2019. Supervisor compensation is $5,500 annually. The board meets every first and third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. Additional evening/day meetings may be required.
