Story Time in the Garden

WAUSAU— Preschool and early elementary-age children are invited to Story Time in the Garden on the second Thursday afternoons of the summer months.

These special summer Story Times will be held at 1:30 p.m. on June 14, July 12 and Aug. 9, in the gardens at the Yawkey House Museum, 403 McIndoe St., Wausau. In case of rain on a given day, Story Time will move indoors to the Woodson History Center across McIndoe Street.

Staff and volunteers from the Marathon County Historical Society will take turns reading from vintage picture books and leading traditional children’s outdoor games. The Yawkey House is the historic home of Cyrus and Alice Yawkey and their daughter, Leigh, and they all enjoyed the garden when they lived there.

Story Times are free and intended for children ages 3 to 7 and their parents or other caregivers. Siblings of other ages are welcome.

Registration is not required. For more information, call the Marathon County Historical Society at 715-842-5750.
