The Wisconsin Woodchucks hit the road Friday for the first time this season, taking on the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters at Witter Field. The Woodchucks kept the game close but the Rafters came through with three runs in the late innings and held on for the win.

The Woodchucks were within reach, down by only 4-2 in the bottom of the 7th inning, but Rafters right fielder Mitch Mallek came through with a two-out, two-run RBI double. That put them up 6-2.

Woodchucks starter Brett Wicklund did a nice job bouncing after getting behind 3-0 in the second inning. He followed that with four scoreless innings. The hurler went six innings total, giving up four runs.
