TOWN OF PINE RIVER — A 50-year-old Merrill woman is dead following a rollover crash in the town of Pine River, police said Sunday.

Amy K. Duley died en route to the hospital after a Friday morning crash on CTW W south of Apartment Street in the town of Pine River, according to a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department news release. The crash was reported at 9:25 a.m., police said.

Emergency responders on Friday discovered Duley trapped in her vehicle, which drifted off the side of the roadway and hit a driveway embankment before rolling over into the ditch, according to police. A MedeVac helicopter landed on the scene, but Duley died as a result of her injuries prior to arriving at a local hospital.

Police say alcohol was not a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.

Duley’s death is the first vehicle fatality recorded in 2018 in Lincoln County.
