Daniel Hauer

Daniel Norbert Hauer, 86, of Wausau passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at his home with his loving family at his side.

Dan was born in Wausau on Feb. 8, 1932, to the late John and Anna (Conrad) Hauer. After high school, Dan joined and served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal.

Dan met, fell in love and married Kathleen Meuret on April 23, 1993. They enjoyed 25 years together.

Dan was a member of the American Legion Montgomery-Plant-Dudley Post #10 and served on the honor guard. He served as a Scout Master and loved to be out on the golf course. Most important to Dan was his family. He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren grow up to start families of their own. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Dan is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen; his twin brother, Eugene (Barb) Hauer; children, Paula (Ed) Meadows, Peter (Jill) Hauer, Phillip Hauer, Perry Hauer, Patrick (Junice) Hauer and Paul (Kathy) Hauer; step-daughters, Alison (Lenny) Hafeman and Lisa (Jerry) Han; 13 grandchildren; as well as 7 great-grandchildren.

Dan is preceded in death by his grandson, Dustin Charneski; brother, Henry and his sisters, Henrietta and Georgianna.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2018, at Holy Name Catholic Parish, 1104 S. Ninth Ave., Wausau. Visitation will take place from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St. and again on Thursday, June 7, 2018, from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Full military honors will be provided by American Legion Montgomery-Plant-Dudley Post #10. Burial will take place at Restlawn Memorial Park.

Ruth Thompson

Ruth Thompson, 86, died June 2, 2018, at Benedictine Living Community of Wausau.

She was born Feb. 4, 1932, in Wausau, daughter of the late William and Alice (Bleier) Krake. On June 26, 1950, she married Jack K. Thompson at Saint Anne Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death on March 20, 2009.

Ruth was an excellent cook and baker and loved gardening. She was one of the founding members of Saint Anne’s Church and enjoyed serving on various church committees and volunteering for several church activities.

Survivors include three children, Virginia “Ginny” (Larry) Jaeger; Patrick (Jenelle) Thompson; Susan (Vince) Lococo; grandchildren, Aaron Jaeger; Kimberly (Travis) Wasmundt; Jacob Thompson; Joshua (Megan) Thompson; Sal (Amber) Lococo; Cathy (Alan) Daniels; three great grandchildren, Faith and Bennett Thompson; Luca Daniels; one brother, David Krake; and two sisters, Betty Wiskowsi, and Carol Gill.

Besides her parents and husband, Jack, she was preceded in death by brothers, Benjamin, Franklin and Harold Krake, sisters, Juanita Kramer and Joyce Busko.

Per mom’s request, a private service will be held at a later date.

The family would like to express our appreciation, to Benedictine, Hospice Care, Dr. Kevin O’Connell and Dr. Tom Strick, for the exceptional and compassionate care for our mother.

Our mother would not want us to mourn, but remember the joy, laughter and love we shared.

Kathleen Holbrook

Kathleen Eleanor Holbrook, 71, died Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at Howard Young Medical Center, Woodruff, Wisconsin.

Kathleen was an adventurous, loving, loyal mother, wife, and friend in her 71 years on this earth. She was born on Jan. 11, 1947, to Russell and Josephine (Wiesman) Wunsch. She depended on her strong belief in God and her love for both her immediate and extended family. She is survived by her son, John Holbrook; brother, Roger (Sherry) Wunsch; sister, Carol (Ken) Kropp and her significant other, Barry Vandertie. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Holbrook; sister, Rita (Wayne) Kroeplin and her parents, Russell and Josephine.

Her son will always remember her guidance and love throughout his life and his parent’s love of the Northwoods of Wisconsin, and their passion for the outdoors. Her close friend Barry will always remember her for her love of him and their many dogs. And both Barry and John will remember her for allegiance to Wisconsin sports teams, in particular the Green Bay Packers.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Kathleen will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 8, 2018, at St. Anne Catholic Parish, Wausau. Fr. Alan Burkhardt will officiate. Joseph Kaminski

Joseph Stanley Kaminski, 76, passed away at Aspirus Wausau Hospital on Sunday, May 27, 2018. He was born on March 25, 1942, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to the late Frank and Josephine (Slowinski) Kaminski.

He attended St. Josaphat Grade School and graduated from Milwaukee Boys Tech. He served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1963 patrolling the East German border. He then worked in the printing industry as a paper cutter and retired in 1997 to Pembine, Wisconsin. In 2004, he moved to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, where he spent his time enjoying the warm weather, assisting with church habitat projects and traveling. He was a member of Teamsters GCC/IBT Local 577M Union almost 50 years and Puerto Vallarta Legion Post 14.

He leaves behind his wife of 23 years, Sharon; his step daughter, Rhonda Karpinski (Jena Taisague); brother, Robert (Joanne) Kaminski; nieces, Barb (Ted) Hoch, Cathy (Dan) Heder, Chris (John) Possing, and his cat, Smoki.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.


Ralph McNutt

Ralph J. McNutt, 67, of Schofield passed away peacefully at his home in Schofield on June 5, 2018.

He was born to Roland Sr. and Bess (Vick) McNutt on Oct. 10, 1950. He served in the United States Army from 1969 – 1972 as an Aircraft Mechanics Repairman. After returning from the military, he married the love of his life Ann in 1980. She was his best friend and confidant right till the end. Ralph started his own trucking business hauling as a transport for many years. This allowed him to travel all over which he really enjoyed. He and his wife, along with their children, took many trips four-wheeling, going to Smokey Mountains, fishing and hunting and just whatever he could think of doing. He lived his life as his own and did it always his way, enjoying it. His nine beautiful granddaughters where is pride and joy.

He is survived by his wife Ann, children; Tammy (Christopher) Hetzel, Christopher (Brandee) McNutt, Shelbie (Ray) Olson, Bradley (Katie) McNutt, Ronny (Patricia) McNutt, and Kelly Jo (Owen) Garro. Two siblings; Rolly (Cindy) Lokre and Gwen (Rodney) Means, along with his nine granddaughters.

He is preceded in death by his dad Roland McNutt Sr.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 28, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Kelly Club, 4810 Ross Ave., Schofield.

Glenn Gipp

Glenn A. Gipp, 65, of Milwaukee died on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, in Milwaukee.

He was born on Dec. 3, 1952, in Milwaukee, the son of the late Robert Gipp and Phyllis (Raddant) Gipp of Wittenberg. Glenn was a United States Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. After his service, he was employed and retired from Outboard Marine Corporation – Evinrude as a machinist. He most recently worked in security at Potawatomi Casino for 15 years. Glenn was a hard worker, a collector and loved to work on cars.

Survivors include his mother, Phyllis; two sisters, Cynthia (Paul) Lawonn of Brookfield and Kathryn (Gregory) Jasinski of New Berlin; four nieces and nephews, Daniel (Camille) Lawonn, Laura (Frankie) Garcia, Dr. Andrew (Katie) Jasinski and Samantha Jasinski; four great-nieces and nephews, Anne and Lillian Jasinski and Selby and Margot Lawonn and his loving girlfriend, Michelle.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 10, 2018, at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg. Rev. Clifford Kessen will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Shawano. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
