For the 9th year in a row, Thomas Jefferson Elementary School was recognized as a Wisconsin Title I School of Recognition – as a Beating the Odds School – for the achievement gains they have seen with their students.
Congratulations to the students, parents, teachers, and Principal Cathy Prozanski for the consistency of recognition and, most importantly, for the consistency in achievement, growth, and closing the gaps among learners.
A “Beating the Odds School” is in the top 25 percent of high-poverty schools in the state, and has above-average student achievement in reading and mathematics when compared to schools of similar size, similar grade configurations, and similar poverty levels.
Thomas Jefferson was recognized for this honor by State Superintendent Tony Evers in Madison who said, “Partnerships among teachers, parents, administrators, school staff members, and the community contribute to the academic success of students in schools that receive this honor.”
Principal Prozanski said, “I continue to be amazed at the hard work and dedication of students and staff at Thomas Jefferson. We are truly a community of learners and find no goal out of reach. I am so proud of our work and progress.”
