WAUSAU – Midwest Communications Rock 94.7 (WOZZ) in partnership with Ho-Chunk Gaming Wittenberg and other supporting local businesses, will launch their first Warrior Wednesday Request-A-Thon on National PTSD Awareness Day, Wednesday, June 27.

That day, listeners can make a donation to the Northwoods Veterans Post in Merrill and request any song they want on Rock 94.7 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Individuals can request a song for $25. Businesses can make a request for $500 and get a glass brick with the company’s name laser-etched on it embedded in the Northwoods Veterans Post. For $1,000, a business can have its company’s logo etched in the brick.

Nickelback requests are $1,000. (Rock 94.7 has a “Nickelback-Free Guarantee” that is being suspended for this event.)

Rock 94.7’s “Scary” Terry Stevens will broadcast from the Sawmill Brewing Company in Merrill that day. Requests can be made at Rock947.com starting the day before, or via phone and on-site day of. A Rock 94.7 “Brats for Vets” cookout also will be held at The Sawmill that day.

The Raise the Flag Capital Campaign, for the establishment of a new Northwoods Veterans Post facility near the intersection of Sixth and Johnson streets in Merrill, Wisconsin, was launched on Nov. 11, 2016. The effort’s goal is to raise roughly $2.8 million for an all-new, 14,376-square-foot building for area veterans groups to call home.
