“Rock Around Spencer” Geology Tour (MCPL Spencer)
Kids, tweens and teens interested in rocks and the earth can participate in a geology scavenger hunt! Stop by the Marathon County Public Library’s Spencer Branch, 105 S. Park St., Spencer, any time from July 9-13 to receive clues that will help you find various rocks hidden around the village. Toddler Dance Party (MCPL Wausau)
Toddlers can enjoy music and movement-themed story times and dance parties this summer beginning July 9 from 11-11:30 a.m. at the Marathon County Public Library’s Wausau Headquarters, 300 N. Anime Afternoon (MCPL Wausau)
Teens can watch three different anime series during Anime Afternoon, happening July 9 from 1-5 p.m. at the Marathon County Public Library’s Wausau Headquarters, 300 N. First St., Wausau. Silly Songs with Duke Otherwise! (MCPL Wausau)
Singer, performer and tap-dancer Duke Otherwise will entertain audiences with two shows on July 10 at the Marathon County Public Library’s Wausau Headquarters, 300 N. First St., Wausau. Duke will perform at 10:30 a.m. and again at 2 p.m., singing hilarious, imaginative songs and offering plenty of audience participation! Free and open to the public. PAWS to Read (MCPL Rothschild)
Children can read to a friendly pup during “PAWS to Read” on July 10 from 6-7 p.m. at the MCPL Rothschild Branch, 211 Grand Ave., Rothschild. Kids can practice and improve their literary skills by reading aloud to a well-behaved therapy dog, provided by Therapy Dogs of Central Wisconsin. Free, with no registration required. Zoozort (MCPL Marathon)
Folks of all ages will enjoy Zoozort, a hands-on, interactive program featuring live, wild animals on July 11 from 10-11 a.m. at Marathon Elementary School, 100 Spring Valley Drive, Marathon City! Kids will learn about the habitat, diet and adaptations of certain animals and about respecting the environment. CD Scratch Art (MCPL Marathon City)
Tweens and teens are invited to the Marathon County Public Library to create a decorative wall hanging using compact discs on July 13 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the library’s Marathon City Branch, 515 Washington St., Marathon. Participants can sketch their own designs on a coated CD, then scratch off the black coating to reveal a shiny rainbow color underneath. Free, with all supplies provided.
