Ted's Trek will be held this year in August.

WESTON — You can help promote organ donation awareness at the Fourth Annual Ted’s Trek, to be held in Weston on Aug. 24.

After receiving a life-saving lung transplant in 2003, the late Ted Gerbig promoted organ donation everywhere he went. You can help Gerbig carry on his mission by inviting your friends and family for a fun-filled evening. Events include a 5K glow run/walk, music, raffles and stories from donor families and recipients. Gerbig, a co-founder of North Central Wisconsin Donate Life, died in 2013,

The event will be held from 8:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Mountain Bay Banquet and Conference Center (Dale’s Weston Lanes), 5902 Schofield Ave., Weston.

Entry fee includes a long-sleeve dri-fit shirt and glow Items. Musician Brad Emanuel will perform after the race. The public is welcome; there is no cover charge.

The race will be timed, but not chipped. Fast runners will lead off, followed by joggers, fast walkers and strollers.

Registration and early packet pick-up for pre-registered participants will be Thursday, Aug. 23, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Dale’s Weston Lanes and again on race day from 6 p.m. until race time.

Additional glow Items will be available for sale at the event.
