The Woodchucks came into Thursday’s game at Warner Park in Madison as they looked to cool down the first place Madison Mallards. It was a pitcher’s duel throughout the early innings but the Chucks bats could not get going off Mallards starter Ryan Kutt and the team fell 5-0.

The Mallards led 2-0 after four innings a run in the 2ndinning and a run in the 4thinning.

In the middle innings, The Chucks could not get things going with the bats and the Mallards added three runs to hang on for the 5-0 win.

Chucks starter Brent Headrick kept the game within reach going 5 2/3’s innings allowing three runs and striking out five.

Top Performers 

Woodchucks designated hitter Javier Valdes was the only offensive production going 1-2 with a walk and reaching base twice.

The Wisconsin Woodchucks will be back home at Athletic Park on Friday June 29thas they host the Madison Mallards on 80s night with the first pitch set for 6:35 p.m. Fans are encouraged to wear 80s costumes, with post-game fireworks set to 80s music.
