The Wisconsin Woodchucks on Thursday chalked up a huge offensive victory, crushing the Rockford Rivets by a score of 14-2.

The win was the fourth straight for the Woodchucks and the sixth in the last seven games.

The Chucks came out swinging right away scoring five runs in the top of the first inning with an RBI single from Alex Toral, a two run RBI single from designated hitter Michael Fernandez and Cooper Swanson getting hit by a pitch to allow a run to score making it 2-0.

The Woodchucks then added two in the top of the 2nd with RBI fielder’s choice from Nick Loftin and another RBI single from Alex Toral to make the score 4-0.

After the Rivets added two runs, the Chucks came back with a solo shot in the top of the 4th inning from centerfielder Reese Alexiades to make the score 5-2.

The offense didn’t stop there in the top of the 5th with an RBI single from Brandt Broussard and an RBI single Michael Fernandez to make it 7-2.

The Chucks added two runs in the top of the 6th with an RBI triple from Nick Loftin and an RBI single from Alex Toral to make the score 9-2.

The offense added five more runs and held on the for the big 14-2 victory.

Chucks reliever Everett Hurst pitched great in relief going two scoreless innings striking out three and giving the Chucks their fourth straight win.

Woodchucks designated hitter Michael Fernandez had a great night at the plate going 2-3 with four RBI’S

Chucks first basemen Alex Toral added a big spark going 3-4 with three RBI’s.

Chucks right fielder Javier Valdes went 2-3 and reached base four times with two walks and centerfielder Reese Alexiades went 2-5 and added with his first home run of the season.

Chucks reliever Everett Hurst pitched great in relief going two scoreless innings striking out three and giving the Chucks their fourth straight win.

Chucks Starter Jake Gross pitched a beauty going seven innings allowing just two runs and keeping the Rivets offense quiet.
