WAUSAU — About 100 customers are without natural gas Tuesday after construction crews struck an unmarked gas line on the city’s west side, according to city officials.

The gas line on Callon Street in Wausau was struck early Tuesday. Wisconsin Public Service crews are at the scene and working to repair the line, which is expected to take much of the day. City officials say affected customers will be without natural gas for an estimated eight hours.

City officials say the area has been made safe.
