STEVENS POINT — The Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra kicks off its 70th season on Oct. 13 and 14 with “Anniversaries & Celebrations,” featuring works of Rossini, Tchaikovsky and Bernstein. CWSO also will premiere a performance of “Reflections,” composed by Stacey Berk.

On Dec. 1 and 2, “Alone Together- Holiday with Cantus” features Fanfare, the premier men’s vocal ensemble in the United States. This program will feature holiday arrangements accompanied by CWSO.  The concert will also feature the 2018 winner of the Betty Frost Jenkins Young Artist Concerto Competition.

The curtain rises on “Friends & Favorites” on Feb. 23 and 24, featuring pianist Michael Keller and soprano Susan Bender in works by Von Weber, Barber and Stravinsky.

The final concert of the season, “Maestro’s Farewell,” will be performed on April 13 and 14. It will feature some of the symphony greats: Beethoven, Mahler, Rimsky-Korsakov and Brahms.

Renewals for season subscriptions are open now until Sept. 1. New and lapsed subscriptions and individual tickets are available for all concerts by reservation and will be filled after Septe. 1 (in the order they have been received) by visiting or calling the CWSO Office, 800 Main St. (inside the Smith Scarabocchio Art Museum), at 715-345-7726.
