Three Wausau West High School students recently earned their Boy Scout Eagle rank.

Taylor Halverson, Johnny Pries and Dylan Warnecke, all members of BSA Troop 462 Boy Scouts, earned their rank through various projects in Rib Mountain and Rothschild. Nationally, the percentage of Scouts who earn their Eagle rank fluctuates from about 4 percent to 6 percent annually.

Halverson earned his Eagle Scout rank on Jan. 18. His project involved revamping the Veterans Memorial at the Town of Rib Mountain municipal building. Along with landscaping and adding a U.S. flag, a memorial stone with medallions representing each military branch and the POW/MIA was placed.

JPries earned his rank on Feb. 11. He implemented a trail marking system for the Cedar Creek trail in Rothschild so that EMS could quickly respond to incidents on that section of trail.
Warnecke earned his Eagle Scout rank on March 15. He coordinated and installed a new information kiosk and two new benches along Rib Mountain State Park Turkey Vulture Trail.
