WITTENBERG — Ho-Chunk Gaming celebrated recently its multi-million dollar renovation in Shawano County.

The $33 million renovation includes a new 86-room, five-story hotel; The River’s Edge restaurant; a renovated snack bar; two full-service bars; non-smoking and high stakes game rooms; and an expanded gaming floor, according to a Wausau Region Chamber of Commerce news release. Eighty jobs were created through the expansion.

A grand opening celebration, including a ribbon cutting ceremony and fireworks, were held on Wednesday, July 11, at Ho-Chunk Gaming’s location along Highway 45 in Wittenberg.

The ribbon cutting ceremony included Ho-Chunk tribal members, local dignitaries, representatives from five chambers and other guests.
