John “Jack” Barrows
John “Jack” Henry Barrows, 87, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born to Vincent and Theresa (Bury) Barrows on Jan. 15, 1931, and served honorably in the United States Army.
Jack was a member of the Antique Car Club and was a loyal fan of the Chicago Bears. He was a skilled carpenter, loved to read and was quite the jokester. He especially enjoyed attending the Concerts on the Square in downtown Wausau.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Ann, and sisters, Joanne (Chester) Chase and Eilene Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers Leon and Robert.
Funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at Brainard Funeral Home – Everest Chapel, 5712 Memorial Court, Weston. The Rev. Louis Britto will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Private burial with military honors performed by the American Legion Montgomery Plant Dudley Post 10 will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, Wausau.

Irvin “Bill” Desotelle
Irvin “Bill” Desotelle, 74, of the town of Rib Mountain passed away Friday, July 20, 2018, at Aspirus Hospice House surrounded by his family.
He was born Sept. 5, 1943, in Las Vegas, Nevada. After graduating from D.C. Everest High School in 1961, Bill served in the USAF. Upon completion of his tour of duty, Bill was hired by the National Security Agency. He worked there for 30 years as a computer expert/manager. He traveled to England, Germany, Italy, Alaska, Japan, Scotland and northern Canada ensuring the acceptance of computer systems for the military. He retired at the age of 50 and moved back to Wausau.
Bill enjoyed golfing, woodworking, fly fishing and driving the 1956 Corvette he restored.
Bill is survived by his wife of 26 years, Barbara; two daughters, Jennifer Doyen of Alpharetta, Georgia; Justine Deville (Todd) of Watertown, South Dakota, step-daughter, Michelle Brewer (Jonathan) of Martinsburg, West Virginia; six grandchildren, Haylee, Ben and Reese Deville; Cooper and Jack Doyen; and Layla Brewer. Surviving family also includes: four brothers, Paul (Terry) Desotelle of Green Bay; Richard (Sandy); Steven (Patti); Jim (Jenny); all of Wausau, and 1 sister, Julie Schmidt (Bruce) of Green Bay, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Irvin J Desotelle and Cecilia (Jaskowski); two brothers, Chris and Gary Desotelle, numerous aunts and uncles and his brother-in-law, Gerald Volker.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2018, at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Peter Kieffer will preside. Friends may call on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.
The family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association in lieu of flowers.

Helen Giese
Helen L. Giese, 84, died Thursday, July 19, 2018, surrounded by her family.
She was born April 25, 1934, in Athens, daughter of the late Sanford and Eula (Wisner) Morse. On Dec. 15, 1953, she married Thomas Giese. He survives.
Helen’s greatest joy was time spent with family and enjoying a meal with a pretty set table. Helen enjoyed cooking, canning and quilting. She was very active in her community with her church and card clubs. She loved spending time with her husband, on bus trips, traveling to Las Vegas, taking an occasional trip to the casino and catching up with family and friends on Facebook.
Survivors include her husband of 64 ½ years, Tom Giese; children, Mary Jo and Peter Vander Grinten, Mark and Michele Giese, Lori and Mark Dougherty and Rick and Steph Giese; grandchildren, Jon Vander Grinten, Sara (Ryan) Goerlitz, Will Dougherty, Riley Dougherty, Ben Giese and Stacey Giese; great-grandchildren, Avie and Jonah Goerlitz; sisters, Nancy Albrecht, Audrey (Harold) Pruss, Alberta (Wayne) Walker and Sally (Lamont) Meinen; sisters-in-law, Nancy Streich and Jackie Bergmann; brother-in-law, Ed (Marge) Giese, numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Sanford Jr. and Judy Morse and a brother-in-law, Earl Albrecht.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2018, at Christ United Church, Athens. Rev. Teri Hanson will officiate. Burial will be in Athens Village Cemetery, Athens. Visitation will be Sunday, July 22, 2018, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens, and again on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at Christ United Church, Athens.

Raymond Rawson
Raymond “Dale” Rawson, 83, Wausau, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018, at Colonial Manor.
He was born July 14, 1934, in Wausau to the late Harvey and Gladys (Drews) Rawson. On Aug. 28, 1976, he married Betty Irene Jackson Krenz at Trinity Lutheran Church on Stewart Avenue in Wausau. They later divorced, but remained friends.
Dale worked at Wisconsin Box Co. in Wausau from high school graduation until his retirement. He loved country music and rock ‘n roll and you could find him wherever there was live music. He enjoyed being around people and liked to eat at church dinners where he could be with his friends. You rarely found Dale at home!
Survivors include, two cousins, Virginia Lee Plonka, Indiana, and Marcy Joss, Stevens Point, his former wife, Betty Irene Rawson, two step-daughters, Donna (fiancé Vernon Gray) Krenz and Julie (fiancé Vernon Gray) Krenz, step grandchildren Codie and Amanda Woytasik, Alonia and Olivia Lake, two cousins, Virginia Lee Plonka, Indiana and Marcy Joss, Stevens Point, as well as many friends who meant the world to him.
Besides his parents and grandparents, Dale was preceded in death by his only sister, Shirley Rawson.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2018, at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth St., Wausau. Arthur Staszak
Arthur Staszak, 91, Wausau, died on Monday, July 16, 2018, at the Aspirus Hospice House.
He was born on Jan. 16, 1927, to the late Walter and Helen (Sliwicki) Staszak in Cudahy, Wisconsin. When he was 8 years old, the family moved to the town of Wausau. He graduated from Wausau High School in 1945. On July 1, 1950, he married Delores Zietlow of Edgar at St. Michael.
Arthur was a lifelong member of St. Michael Catholic Church and a member of the Third Degree Knights of Columbus George Schreier Council #1069 and enjoyed participating in the Tootsie Roll drive.
He was a truck driver all his life. He worked for Leon Burger Trucking for 16 years and later he drove a gas and oil truck, retiring from Wausau Energy in 1988.
Among his favorite pastimes he enjoyed playing cards and walking dogs for people.
Survivors include his wife Delores and son Robert (Judy) Staszak of Wausau, daughter Carol (Clem) Jauquet of Eagan, Minnesota, granddaughter Nicole Jauquet, great grandson Caden of Somerset, Wisconsin, and sister-in-law Elsie Zietlow of Edgar.
Besides his parents, Arthur was preceded in death by his son Elroy and brother-in-law Delbert Zietlow.
The Funeral Mass was celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch presided. Visitation was held Friday morning until the time of services at the church. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau.

Ronald Krueger
Ronald D. Krueger, 80, of Wausau passed away on July 18, 2018, at his home.
He was born on May 30, 1938, in Wausau, the son of the late George and Evelyn (Moderow) Krueger.
He was a lifelong Wausau resident. Ron was a Wausau High graduate and went on to marry Sandra Marquardt on Sept. 12, 1959, at First United Methodist Church, Wausau.
Ron took over his father’s service station in his early working days. Later in life, he sold the station and worked in several factories in town. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. The family had a cottage on Lake Nokomis, where you could usually find him on the weekends enjoying the special times with family and friends.
Survivors include his children, Susan (Lee) Rye, Linda Krueger, Carla (James) Wadinski, Robert (Tracy) Krueger, Tina (Richard) Headlee, Jennifer (Lonnie) Evans, all of Wausau; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his siblings, Darlene (Derald) Kell, Leila Howland, Janice Normand, Judith (Daniel) Wadzinski, Thomas Krueger and Richard (Kim) Krueger.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Sandra, and his sisters, Diane Goetz and Carol Rhyner.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Monday, July 23, 2018, at Helke Funeral Home, 302 Spruce St., Wausau. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Restlawn Memorial Park.
