SHEBOYGAN FALLS, Wis. — A pilot is dead and two people are injured after a single-engine vintage plane crashed near Sheboygan County Memorial Airport.Authorities said the plane crashed Friday shortly after taking off from Sheboygan County Memorial Airport. It crashed into a barn and calving building, starting a fire and injuring dozens of animals, most of which had to be put down after the crash. There were 40 to 50 animals in the building at the time.

Sheboygan County Sheriff Corey Roeseler said the pilot died on impact. Two farm employees were injured.

The plane was a DE Havlon DH112 Venom described as a “vintage military plane.” It crashed on a farm located near the intersection of CORD O and Meadowlark Road.

The pilot and aircraft were in the area as part of an air clinic that takes place every year before EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh.

During the clinic, pilots practice their formation flying skills.

Authorities have not yet identified the pilot or said where that pilot flew in from. The FAA and the NTSB will begin the investigation into why the plane went down.
