TOWN OF FARMINGTON — The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help identifying a hit-and-run driver who struck and killed an 18-year-old Amherst found dead early Saturday.

Police found the lifeless body of Tim Michael Cruise II just after 3 a.m. lying on Golke Road near Hwy Q in the town of Farmington, about three miles west of Waupaca, according to a news release. Cruise was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say Cruise was walking on Golke Road when he was struck by a westbound vehicle that left the scene after the crash. Police do not have a description of the vehicle or suspect and do not know how badly the vehicle was damaged.

Golke Road links the King area of the Waupaca Chain O’ Lakes to Hartman Creek State Park.

An autopsy is scheduled for early in the week to determine the exact cause of Cruise’s death.
