WAUSAU — Area Development magazine rated Wausau No. 20 nationally, No. 4 among small cities and No. 1 in Wisconsin out of the 382 metropolitan areas in the country in its 2018 rankings of business competiveness.
The next closest Wisconsin metro was Sheboygan at No. 51 nationally.
“I’m proud to see Wausau again acknowledged for strong job and wage growth,” said Mayor Robert Mielke in a city news release.
