WAUSAU — A 52-year-old Mosinee man accused of intentionally stabbing an 18-year-old family member with a steak knife is jailed on a $10,000 cash bond, according to court filings.
Arnold Randl was arrested Monday after police were called to a Mosinee clinic for a report of a man who had suffered stab wounds to the stomach. The victim survived the attack and was taken to a local hospital for surgery.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim told police he and Randl were in Randl’s living room when they began to verbally argue. Randl allegedly grabbed a steak knife from the couch and stabbed the victim in the stomach, then acted as though it was all a joke, the complaint states.
Randl appeared Tuesday in Marathon County Circuit Court, where he faces charges of first degree recklessly endangering safety and aggravated battery intentionally causing bodily harm. He was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim in the case, whose current condition has not been released.
A preliminary hearing is set for Aug. 8.
