It’s fair time in Wausau! This is the 150th anniversary of the Wisconsin Valley Fair, so this weekend should be hopping! Food is my little corner of the internet, so I couldn’t leave you hungry on the midway. Click the video for a rundown of a bunch of the culinary delights the fair has to offer!

For this special edition food review, my little boy and I hit the fair with a few $20 dollar bills and didn’t stop eating until it was gone! We tried bubble tea, walking tacos, gyros, a pork chop on a stick and a lemongrass tofu bahn mi sandwich, as well as staples like deep fried cheese curds and much more. We were on a mission.

We ate approximately 6 million calories of grease and sodium, and you can too! Food has always been a big deal at country fairs, and here you’ll find corn on the cob, popcorn, cotton candy and all the rest of what you love. I was sad though, we didn’t find any onion blossoms. Don’t let that stop you, though. There were more ethnic foods this year, so there is a lot to choose from.

There are other attractions, sure, like animal shows, you can join the army, play carnival games or you can go on all the rides. Maybe get food after the rides, though. And of course there’s the beer tent for all you adults.

We had a lot of fun at the fair this year, so get out there and enjoy it! Have a great weekend.
