TOWN OF NOKOMIS — An Athens man is dead and a Wausau area woman is facing homicide charges after the UTV they were riding in overturned Saturday in Tomahawk.

The crash was reported just before 8p.m. On The Point Road East in the Oneida County town of Nokomis. The driver of the vehicle, 46-year-old Brenda Reiche of Weston, was intoxicated at the time of the crash, according to an Oneida County Sheriff’s news release.

Charges of homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle are pending against Reiche, the release stated.

A 49-year-old man, identified as Adam Rietz, died at the scene, police said.

Reiche is in critical condition at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Department is continuing to investigate.
