WAUSAU — Police in Wausau have released surveillance footage of Saturday’s attempted armed robbery at a west side gas station that was foiled by a quick thinking clerk.

Police were called at 9:22 p.m. Saturday to the BMW Fuel Mart, 102 N. Third Ave. for a report of an attempted armed robbery that had just happened, according to a news release. The Fuel Mart is also commonly referred to as the Clark Gas Station.

Two unidentified suspects entered the business, one of whom brandished a handgun and demanded money from the store’s employee, police said.
