WAUSAU — A man riding a bicycle was struck by a car Friday afternoon on Grand Avenue in Wausau, police said.
The crash happened at about 12:45 p.m. when a vehicle was preparing to pull out of the parking lot at Kwik Trip, 310 Grand Ave., to head south, according to witnesses. It is not clear if the bicyclist was riding on the sidewalk or in the sharrows on the street.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The severity of the man’s injuries was not immediately specified.
Traffic was down to one lane for about an hour in both the northbound and southbound lanes Friday afternoon while the crash was being investigated. Police have not yet said if any citations were issued.
