A receiver has been appointed for Atrium Health and Senior Living, which operates one facility in Michigan and 32 facilities in Wisconsin including Atrium Post Acute Care, 6001 Alderson St., in Weston.

On Friday, a Wood County Circuit Court judge appointed Milwaukee attorney Michael S. Polsky of Beck, Chaet, Bamberger & Polsky, S.C. as Receiver of the facilities. Polsky has retained Health Dimensions Consulting, Inc. to serve as an operations consultant during the process. Health Dimensions Consulting is a consulting and management firm based in Minneapolis.

An Atrium spokesman said the action will allow the business to continue operating without an interruption to services to residents and their families while protecting the organization’s ability to pay employees and meet vendor obligations.

“Our goal will be to work together to provide the support and expertise needed to allow all of the facilities to continue delivering quality care and services to residents,” Polsky said. “The health, safety, and comfort of the residents will be the primary concern going forward. Our main focus at this time is to stabilize the company and ensure that residents continue to receive seamless quality care in the centers from the staff they have come to know. This plan also helps ensure that all payroll and benefits are provided to employees and that vendors are paid for ongoing services on a timely basis.”

Atrium Health also operates three facilities in Stevens Point and other facilities in Marshfield, Wisconsin Rapids, Appleton, Shawano, and other cities around the state.
