TOWN OF FIFIELD — The driver of an ATV is dead following a crash Sunday in Price County.
Deputies were called at 11:46 a.m. to an ATV trail north of Hwy. 70 and east of Smith Rapids Road in the Town of Fifield, according to WJFW.
Investigators say the ATV was traveling south on a trail through the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest when the vehicle struck a tree. The driver, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected from the ATV and was transported to Flambeau Hospital in Park Falls before being pronounced dead.
The Price County Sheriff’s Office will not release the victim’s name until family members are notified. The crash will be investigated by the DNR.
