WAUSAU — A 13-year-old Wausau girl remains in critical condition Monday afternoon following an early morning weekend rollover crash on the city’s northwest side.

The girl is one of three people injured in the crash, which happened at about 5:30 a.m. Sunday on North Fourth Avenue near Campus Drive. A 15-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy were also injured in the crash, according to Wausau Police Chief Ben Bliven.

The two 15-year-olds were transported to Aspirus Wausau Hospital but have since been released, Bliven said.

A dog in the vehicle at the time of the crash was taken to an emergency vet for treatment. The dog’s condition has not been released.

Two of the three occupants of the vehicle appeared to have been wearing seat belts, said Bliven, who did not specify which of the teens was driving the vehicle.

Police have not yet determined what factors led to the crash but expect additional information to be released later in the week.

The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol crash reconstruction unit and the Wausau Police Department.
