The Marathon County Public Library will host several events in the coming weeks at its various libraries.

  • The library will host its first book-to-movie night from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Oct. 2  at its Wausau Headquarters, 300 N. First St., Wausau. Patrons of all ages can watch the 2007 film adaptation of “Charlotte’s Web” and then discuss how the movie compares to the book. Free. Call 715-261-7220 for more info.
  • Adults can make a beautiful crafted flower to decorate their home from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 2 at the library’s Hatley Branch, 435 Curtis Ave., Hatley. Attendees will use a Styrofoam ball, cotton swabs, floral wire and food coloring to create their flower. Free, with all supplies provided. Call 715-446-3537 for more info.
  • Kids and families can attend a special story time featuring a local police officer from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Oct. 3 at the Mosinee Branch, 123 Main St., Mosinee. Attendees can hear stories and meet School Resource Officer Eric Krause, who will talk about being a police officer and answer questions about his job. Free. Call 715-693-2144.
  • Scrapbook enthusiasts can talk with others, share ideas and work on their own scrapbooking projects from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 4 at the Rothschild Branch, 211 Grand Ave., Rothschild.
