WAUSAU — The Wausau RiverWolves have announced their 2018-2019 roster as they prepare for their home opener today, Sept. 28, at Marathon Park Ice Arena in Wausau.
The roster includes 10 Wisconsin natives: Garrett Alton (Racine), Pheniox Engum (Green Bay), Alex Piotrowski (Green Bay), Casey Hayek (Wisconsin Rapids), James Pawlicki (Merrill), Ben Brown (Merrill), Santana Pinkert (Green Bay), Colin Brey (Wisconsin Rapids), Max Bembinster (Tomahawk) and Cale Bowman (Wausau).
The roster also features players from seven other states including Tennessee, Ohio, Wyoming, Minnesota, Illinois, North Dakota and South Dakota. Forward Daniel Hrebik is the lone foreign-born player from Zdiby, Czech Republic.
“I am very excited and eager to see these young men come together on the ice for our first game,” said head coach Tom Murphy in a RiverWolves news release. “All the pieces of the puzzle on our roster have finally come together during our rigorous two-a-days training camp. I am pumped to be a part of a great team of owners and front office staff. It’s been an awesome learning experience and I can’t wait to see what the season has in store for us.”
The RiverWolves are members of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL), one of three USA Hockey-sanctioned Tier III Junior leagues, serves as one of the top training grounds in the country by providing the best coaching, exposure and developmental vehicles available for student-athletes in its classification.
