RIB MOUNTAIN — Food items contributed to the Pumpkin Patch at Peoples State Bank in Rib Mountain will benefit area food pantries.

The fundraising event runs from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 13 at the bank, 2904 Rib Mountain Drive, Rib Mountain.

Attendees are asked to bring a nonperishable food item to the Pumpkin Patch to exchange for a free pumpkin (while supplies last). All food collected will be donated to the Marathon County Hunger Coalition to help supply food pantries throughout the county.

“We do this event to let people know that we want to be a part of something great. We care not only about our customers and employees, but we also care about our community,” said Vicki Mauritz, branch manager of Peoples State Bank-Rib Mountain, in a news release. “Events like this help build a strong community, which gives people pride for living in a great place.”

Families are encouraged to take their children to help pick out a pumpkin. Children can decorate their pumpkins with stickers. Cookies, coffee and apple cider will be served.

The pumpkin patch will be held rain or shine. For more questions, call 888-929-9902.
