LAKE DU BAY, Wis. — One person is dead and another person remains missing Saturday after a boat capsized on Lake DuBay, officials confirmed.
Multiple crews including the Marathon County Dive Team scoured the area for hours in search of the missing boaters, one of whom was found dead about an hour after the search began, according to Portage County Sheriff’s officials. Lake DuBay lies within both Marathon and Portage Counties.
Officials believe just two people were in the boat, which they suspect capsized after traveling too close to the dam. Police did not specify what time the search began.
The names of the victims have not been released.
