ROTHSCHILD — The Wisconsin Department of Justice is asking for the public’s help locating an 84-year-old man last seen Saturday at a Rothschild church.

Police say Richard Czarnecki was last seen Oct. 6 in Rothschild.

According to a Silver Alert issued early Monday, Richard Czarnecki is described as 5’7: tall, about 190 pounds, with short gray hair and blue eyes. He was last seen at 5:30 p.m. at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Rothschild and was wearing a maroon coat with “Bucyrus Erie” printed on the fabric; black shoes; and black pants.

Czarnecki left the church in a gray 2008 Buick Lucerne with Wisconsin license plate 794-TJE.

Police think Czarnecki  was possibly in Forest County near Crandon at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday. He was reported missing Sunday evening by family members, who are unsure whether Czarnecki spent the night of Oct. 6 at his home. The missing man frequents the Stevens Point, Cedar Creek and Schofield areas and has a friend living in Wausau, according to police.

Anyone with information about Czarnecki’s whereabouts should call the Rothschild Police Department at 715-849-7794.
