STEVENS POINT — Go back in time to when music was groovy and far out as the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Department of Music invites you to experience the 60s.

Offered at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, “Experience the Music of the 60s, Part II” is the annual Music Department fundraiser formerly known as Soirée Musicale. It includes a reception with hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar, followed by a concert in Michelsen Hall at 7:30 p.m. and an afterglow party featuring desserts and a cash bar. All will be in the Noel Fine Arts Center, 1800 Portage St., Stevens Point.

The evening highlights the talents of music faculty, students and alumni, and features music from Woodstock, the Beatles, iconic movies and more. Attire from the 1960s is encouraged.

Admission is $50 per person or $25 for UW-Stevens Point faculty, staff and students, and includes the concert, pre- and post-performance receptions. Tickets are $65 at the door. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit www.uwsp.edu/music/Pages/soiree.aspx or http://tickets.uwsp.edu.
